Does the color-coated coil leveling equipment have a coating protection device?

1.How to protect the unwinding and feeding areas?

Floating uncoiler/saddle: The coil support arm is covered with a special material (such as polyurethane) or designed as an adjustable V-shaped saddle to prevent direct friction between the inner coil of the steel coil and hard metal.

Bouncing rollers/floating rollers: Located between the uncoiler and the straightener, they automatically float according to the strip tension, acting as a buffer and tension isolation to prevent relative sliding and scratching of the surface caused by instantaneous pulling.

EPC (Edge Position Control) system: Automatically adjusts the lateral position of the strip on the production line using photoelectric sensors to ensure it always runs in the center, preventing it from deviating and scratching against hard objects such as the equipment side guide plates.

2.How to protect the leveling and conveying areas?

Work Roll Material: High-hardness, high-gloss chrome-plated rollers or specially treated rollers with an extremely smooth surface.

Support Roller (Back Support Roller) Design: Densely arranged small-diameter support rollers are added between the upper and lower rows of work rollers in the leveling machine to reduce roller deflection and deformation, preventing indentations caused by uneven pressure between the rollers and the sheet material due to roller bending.

Individual Roller Adjustment: Advanced leveling machines allow independent fine-tuning of the height and pressure of each leveling roller, ensuring optimal pressure for leveling the sheet material and preventing over-leveling that could cause roller marks.

Vacuum Adsorption Conveyor Platform: A flat plate with numerous small holes is used between the leveling machine and the feeding mechanism. A blower below generates negative pressure, "suctioning" the sheet material onto the platform for stable transport. This is the most efficient and safest protection method, ensuring no contact between the sheet material and the equipment.

Air Cushion Conveyor Platform: In contrast to vacuum adsorption, upward blowing creates an air film, allowing the sheet material to float and be transported on a low-friction "air cushion."

Belt/brush conveyor: Using wide engineering plastic belts or dense nylon brush rollers as the conveying surface, it provides soft support and is less expensive than air cushion/vacuum methods, but also very effective.

3.How to protect the shearing and stacking areas?

Pinch rollers before sizing: The surface of the pinch rollers is usually coated with polyurethane or a similar elastic material to provide sufficient traction while protecting the surface.

Magnetic belt stacking: For galvanized, color-coated, and other magnetically conductive sheets, magnetic belts are used to smoothly "place" the sheets onto the stacking trolley, preventing drops and slippage scratches.

Air-floating stacking/layered drop system: During the sheet drop process, airflow is used to slow the descent speed and ensure a horizontal drop, achieving gentle and neat stacking.

Stacking trolley platform: The platform surface is covered with felt, rubber, or special plastic sheets and kept absolutely clean.

4.What systemic protections are provided across the entire network?

No exposed rigid guides: All guides, guardrails, and guide rollers that may come into contact with the sheet are made of plastic (such as nylon, UHMW), bakelite, or coated with rubber.

Cleaning system: Brushes or dust rollers are installed after the uncoiler to remove tiny particles that may have adhered to the surface of the roll material during transportation and storage, preventing them from being pressed into the coating.

Precise tension control: The tension and speed of the entire production line are precisely matched to prevent slippage and abrasions caused by sudden tension changes.

5.What are some things to keep in mind when making purchases?

Specific Questions: Directly ask the equipment manufacturer: "For color-coated sheets (even specifying whether it's PVDF high-gloss or ordinary PE sheet), what specific coating protection devices are used in the production line?"

Focus on Core Elements: Examine the configuration of the work rollers and support rollers of the leveling machine, and the conveying method from leveling to stacking (air cushion/vacuum/belt?).

Review Case Studies: Request videos or on-site visits from the manufacturer showcasing successful case studies of processing similar products (especially high-end coated and printed sheets).

Investment Perspective: Consider this configuration a necessary investment. An excellent protection system can significantly reduce your scrap rate and customer complaints, and in the long run, its value far exceeds its cost.
